Our Guest Clarice Fluitt
CLARICE: Their zeal was out there! And so, sure enough, the Catholic priest comes out and he looked like Friar Tuck! He was about as round as he was tall. And he came out and he’d say, “Isn’t it wonderful?” Well, I didn’t know what “it” was but he was excited about whatever it was. And they preached and I had no idea. And suddenly it happened! The Greek and Hebrew choir started singing!
Audience: [laughing]
CLARICE: [speaking in tongues] Whoa – hoo – hoo – hoo – hoo! What is that!
Audience: [laughing]
CLARICE: And I mean my little spirit was saying. “Hallelujah! Hallelujah!” You know like a duck that found water! And I’m sayin’ Hah! Hah! Hah! And then, sure enough, the orators were in town. “Yea! Sayeth the Lord, thy God!” I had no idea that was a prophetic word! I had no idea people were singing in tongues! I didn’t know it could be done! I’d been Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Episcopalian, Catholic, heathen! Been all those things!
Audience: [laughing]
CLARICE: And they didn’t do that in any of the places that I’d been frequenting! So suddenly my spirit man is saying. “Hah! Oh, I found water!” So we – [laughs]
Audience: [laughing]
CLARICE: The priest gets up at the end of the day. Now listen! Listen! God wants to give you an experience! You’re wanting a doctrine. He wants to give you an invitation, not an explanation!
Am I making sense to you?
Audience: Yes! Yes!
CLARICE: So knowing that, of course, I didn’t know that at all, and we were sitting back and it went on and on, and on and on, and on and on, and on! We used to have a little rhyme that says Mary had a little lamb but he never became a sheep.
Audience: [laughter]
CLARICE: He got involved with Pentecostals and died from lack of sleep! You see? [laughs]
Audience: [laughing]
CLARICE: We didn’t know that God could move till after 12 o’clock! Oh, it was incredible! So the priest gets up about 11:30 and he say, “Isn’t it wonderful?” And I have no clue of what’s goin’ on! I’ve just heard the Greek and Hebrew choir. I’d heard the orators and then the rest of the stuff. I didn’t know what they were goin’ on. Those people never took a bathroom break! Their bladder must have been this long!
Audience: [laughter]
Our Guest Clarice Fluitt
CLARICE: So knowing that God has – He just imparts the ability to tell stories. And where we’re dealing in the marketplace with people that are looking for gainful employment our country has been in a time of great chastening. And I don’t have to go into all that. All of you can read newspapers and know that the heathens are raging! [laughs] They’re everywhere! But when they come to these organizations that we have the opportunity to speak at, you’re wanting to encourage people that have been out of work. And so this is a story that I told them.
I said there was this man and he had this incredible wonderful job. And he was doing so incredibly wonderfully well, then suddenly the market came and he lost his job. Well, he was oppressed. He was unhappy. He moaned and groaned and he could not find gainful employment because he was so proud of himself. You know he was such a wonderful person and he kept telling his wife you know, “Well I’m worth more than that!” So two years of being worth more than that and not gaining any employment one day she explained to him. They had what we call a come to Jesus moment!
Audience: [laughs]
CLARICE: And she explained it to him! “Get a job! You know get a job!” And she said, “You know if you have to flip burgers or whatever you have to do, get out and do that!” There’s nothing sadder than faded glory where we’re thinkin’ about, “Well when I was this I did this, I did that.” Let’s face the now! Let’s face what’s goin’ on today instead of trying to, “Well these were the good old days or you know I was happy then. I’m unhappy now!” Put your happy face on! “Happy is the man or woman whose God is the Lord!” Well, John went out to get a job. He was motivated. He was motivated by this wonderful look on his wife’s face. Don’t come home without a job!
Audience: [laughter]
Our Guest David Hairabedian
Sid, before my eyes, like a clear gel came down on Shane’s head, and began to come down slowly over his shoulders. And I heard these sounds. Pop, pop crack. And Shane pulled his headphones off and he said, “Vic, Dave, I’m healed. Hallelujah. [speaking in tongues].” He began to speak in tongues. And I was more mystified than anybody because the God I didn’t believe in positioned me to pray a prayer for him to answer it in front of a licensed chiropractor, who then examined Shane, and all of the bones were back in proper position, and he was completely healed.
SID: You know what that tells me? God’s love. And he loved David. He loved that man in the cell. He loved that chiropractor. They all needed to see this. And then tell me about when you’re in prison, Jesus appeared.
DAVID:: It was an amazing encounter, but I want to share this. It was the night before my sentencing, June 6th, 1990. And I was going to sentencing that next day. And I was now … I knew the Messiah now. And what happened was, I thought, “I need to pray.” There was no unction to pray. It was almost rote, religious. And I got down on one knee to pray. That’s how prideful I still was. And God brought me down on both knees. And I said, “God, I’m going to sentencing tomorrow.” And my co-defendant and the other person in the cell joined with me in prayer out of pity for my situation. And as I got down and I prayed, it was just words. There was no power in it whatsoever.
